Lisa S. Gorrell, CG, is a Certified Genealogist®, who lives in California. She has seriously researched her family for more than
twenty-five years. It was the birth of
her daughters that began the journey connecting the past and the future
generations. One trip to Sutro Library in San Francisco, where she found her grandfather’s family in microfilm of the 1920 census got
her hooked.
She is also a founding member of Applied Genealogy Institute, where she teaches intermediate and advanced hands-on courses.
She enjoys volunteering and is currently a board member of the Contra Costa
Historical Society and volunteers at their archives at the History Center in
Martinez. She is a past president of the Contra Costa County Genealogical Society
and past-recording secretary of the California Genealogical Society. She has been a tour leader with CGS’s research trip to Salt Lake City.
She has maintained two blogs since 2011 and enjoys writing about her family and her genealogy journey. Every day is a good day if there is genealogy in it.
