I have completed two hundred and forty-five (245) weeks of semi-lockdown due to Covid-19. My outside activities were trips to the History Center, two weekend days at Train Club for our public show, and Thanksgiving with my daughter on Thursday and my brother-in-law on Saturday.

Genealogy Meetings:
Monday was busy with meetings: first with the CDG renewal accountability group and second with the Monday roundtable. On Tuesday, I had an early morning meeting with staff from BCG about our new mail program. Jacqueline and I met in the afternoon and we discussed Zoom and military items. I showed her images of the WWI draft classification sheets I had ordered.
Genealogy Volunteer/Work:
I taught my last session of the Probate class for AppGen. The students had wonderfully researched presentations about probate records. My next course will be in spring and I will teach about federal land. On Tuesday, I volunteered at the History Center continuing my work on the Pleasant Hill Historical Society Collection.
I did record pulls at the county recorder’s office for my occasional client. Once scanned, I sent them off to him.
Genealogy Writing/Research:
I worked on a research report addressing the WWI classification lists I received for eleven Texas men from Erath and Comanche counties. I compared their draft registration cards against what was written on the classification list. I was disappointed that none of the men served. There were only a few men on the pages who were drafted.

Wednesday, I finally attended a Wednesday Walkers hike after being gone to attend the SLIG course. We walked at Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley along the bay shore. We also walked among the updated section with young and older native plants.
Friday and Sunday were spent at the train club for our weekend show and I continued working at the setup as a troubleshooter.
Thanksgiving was spent with our daughter and her partner. We all shared in the preparation of the turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, baked winter squash and Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes. The food was delicious. Saturday, we spend time with my brother-in-law and his wife, her niece, and his daughter. The artichokes and prime rib were delicious.

Genealogists are great at documenting our ancestors’ lives but not so great at documenting our own. I’ll write about what I’ve been doing the past week. This idea came from Randy Seaver of Genea-Musing, who started this meme.
