The best thing they did was put up the digital images of records even though they had not yet been digitized. The next best site I’m thankful for are all of the newspaper sites that have digital images of newspapers. Many that I use are: Free Sites: Chronicling America at the Library of Congress website. There are lots of newspapers from every state that were published before 1923. There is no copyright so can be freely used in our work.
